What is a Runner’s Injury?

Running injuries are common among both beginner and experienced runners and often develop due to overuse, training errors, poor biomechanics, or inadequate recovery. These injuries can affect the feet, ankles, knees, hips, or lower back and may limit performance, training consistency, and daily comfort.

Some of the most frequent running injuries include heel pain such as Plantar Fasciitis, shin splints, runner’s knee (patellofemoral pain), IT band syndrome, Achilles tendinopathy, and muscle strains (like the hip flexor). Symptoms often include aching pain during or after runs, stiffness after rest, swelling, tightness, or pain that gradually worsens with continued mileage.

How Can We Help?

Our chiropractors treat these running injuries by focusing on identifying the biomechanical breakdown of the injury. We find the root cause and begin improving movement efficiency. Care may include Active Release Technique (ART), Dry Needling, Joint Mobilization, and guided Rehab Exercises to improve strength, flexibility, and running mechanics. The goal is to reduce pain, prevent recurrence, and help runners return to training safely and consistently.
