What is Neck Pain?

Neck pain is incredibly common among both active individuals and desk-bound professionals, often developing due to postural stress, repetitive mechanical strain, or poor ergonomics. In today’s digital environment, hours spent hunching over computers or looking down at phones force the cervical spine to bear sustained, abnormal loads. This chronic pressure can affect the muscles, ligaments, and small joints of the neck, leading to localized discomfort, limited range of motion, and decreased daily comfort.

Some of the most frequent mechanical issues include cervical joint dysfunction, muscle strains (like the trapezius or levator scapulae), tension headaches, and disc irritation. Symptoms often manifest as a constant, dull ache at the base of the skull, sharp catching pain when turning your head, muscular tightness across the tops of the shoulders, or a prominent feeling of stiffness after long periods of rest or sitting.
