What is a Headache?
A headache is defined as pain or discomfort in the head, scalp, or neck region, arising from the irritation of pain-sensitive structures such as muscles, nerves, or blood vessels. Types of headaches include tension-type (the most common), migraines, and cluster headaches, they can also be secondary, resulting from things like sinus congestion, neck dysfunction (cervicogenic), or dehydration.
Common symptoms vary depending on the specific type of headache but often include a dull, aching pressure, sharp throbbing sensations, or a "tight band" feeling around the forehead. Many individuals also experience sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, or localized stiffness in the upper neck and shoulders.
How Can We Help?
Our sports Chiropractic team will determine whether your symptoms are driven by tension, migraines, or cervicogenic (neck-related) dysfunction. We then utilize a combination of targeted spinal adjustments to improve joint mechanics and manual soft tissue therapy to release chronic muscle tension in the neck and upper back. To ensure long-term results and prevent headaches from reoccurring, we integrate functional rehabilitation and ergonomic coaching designed to correct postural imbalances and strengthen the supporting musculature. By addressing the structural and mechanical triggers of your pain, we help you achieve lasting relief and reduce your reliance on temporary fixes.
