What is Elbow Pain?
Elbow pain can affect daily activities, work performance, exercise, and sports participation. Pain may develop on the inside, outside, front, or back of the elbow and can present in a wide range of symptoms from mild irritation to sharp pain with gripping, lifting, pushing, or pulling movements. Common symptoms include stiffness, weakness, tenderness, reduced range of motion, or pain that radiates into the forearm or hand.
Elbow pain is often caused by overuse, repetitive movements, weight lifting, sports activities, poor movement mechanics, or strain to the muscles and tendons surrounding the joint. Conditions such as tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, tendon irritation, and muscle tightness are some of the common contributors to elbow discomfort.
