Manual therapy and nerve entrapment treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome at Indy Spine and Rehab in Carmel, Indiana.

What is Carpal Tunnel?

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common repetitive strain injury that occurs when the median nerve becomes compressed as it passes through the narrow pathway of bones and ligaments in your wrist. In our modern work and athletic environments, prolonged typing, repetitive gripping, or sustained wrist flexion can cause the surrounding tendons to become irritated and inflamed. This swelling increases pressure within the carpal tunnel, directly disrupting the nerve's ability to signal properly and leading to localized discomfort and hand dysfunction.

Because the median nerve controls sensation and movement in most of your fingers, symptoms typically manifest as a persistent ache in the wrist, numbness, or a "pins and needles" tingling sensation in the thumb, index, and middle fingers. Over time, patients often notice a weak grip, dropped objects, or burning pain that flares up at night or during repetitive daily tasks, signaling a functional breakdown in how the hand and wrist navigate mechanical load.

How Can We Help?

We offer a non-invasive approach to Carpal Tunnel, by identifying the exact site of median nerve entrapment, from the neck down to the wrist. Our Carmel team utilizes Manual therapy, Active Release Techniques (ART), and Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (Scraping) to release tension and adhesions. Combined with Nerve Gliding exercises and ergonomic coaching, we help you restore grip strength and eliminate numbness without the need for surgery.
