Indy Spine and Rehab Director
Ryan Van Matre, D.C., M.S.(c)
Ryan Van Matre, D.C., M.S.(c) Director of Indy Spine and Rehab, completed undergraduate studies at DePauw and Purdue Universities. He received a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic. He is board certified by the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board and is an Elite ART provider, Masters level certified in biomechanics and nerve entrapments.
He is post-doctorate faculty for National University of Health Sciences and has studied musculoskeletal medicine under Karel Lewit, M.D., Vladimir Janda, M.D. and Pavel Kolar, P.T., Ph.D. at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. Dr. Van Matre is a member of the PGA Sports Medicine Team and has served as consultant to the Indianapolis Colts.
He is a member of the American Pain Society and International Association for the Study of Pain, SIG Pain with Movement. Dr. Van Matre is a candidate for a master’s degree in therapeutic outcomes research from Indiana University, School of Health Sciences. In his free time he enjoys martial arts, reading and spending time with his family.

Armando M. Alvarez, D.C.
Armando M. Alvarez, D.C. completed undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico. He received his doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College where he also completed post-graduate studies in nutrition. During his time at TCC, Dr. Alvarez participated in orthopedic surgery rotations at the University of Texas Medical School. This provided Dr. Alvarez the opportunity to be familiarized with spinal surgical procedures, while learning how to communicate effectively when managing cases collaboratively with healthcare providers.
Dr. Alvarez has been a martial artist since childhood and is an Olympic Weightlifting National gold medalist in Puerto Rico. This past experience gives Dr. Alvarez a deeper understanding of sports injuries and keen insight to the athlete’s mentality when suffering an injury. In his free time, Dr Alvarez likes to practice Martial Arts, cook, travel and spend time with his daughter.
